The IWM holds an annual international conference in spring. In addition, study days are offered at irregular intervals.
During the annual international conference, which lasts several days, the focus is on systematic reflection of missiological issues. The study days take up current global church topics and are characterized by practical relevance.

Annual Conference 2023 - Doing Synodality in Intercultural Exchange
The Annual Conference 2023 of the Institute for Global Church and Mission offered a forum for intercultural exchange and lived synodality, that was based on the results of an empirical study on the relevance of the central topics of the German Synodal Way (power, women, priesthood, and sexuality) for local churches worldwide.

DIe AMP-Jahresakademie 2022 des Stipendienprogramms Albertus Magnus stand unter dem Vorzeichen der Synodalität. At our conferences, care is taken to ensure intercultural exchange through the presence of speakers from various global church contexts.
The aim is to enrich the theological discourse with impulses coming from different local and cultural contexts. An emphasis is also placed on the contribution of different disciplines to scientific analysis. The meetings thus provide a platform for communication between local churches and ecumenical conversation on a global level.



Research
Through research, the IWM provides missiological groundwork in an intercultural perspective and reflects on the shape of the universal church.
Teaching
Through teaching at the Sankt Georgen Graduate School of Philosophy and Theology, the IWM addresses questions of the mission of the church in theological discourse.
Events
With annual conferences and study days, the IWM offers a platform for international exchange on current topics in missiology.
Programs
The programs of the IWM strengthen the importance of the church as a global learning community and support the work of the dioceses and catholic aid organisations in Germany.
